EduShell

Help & documentation

EduShell hosts hands-on labs: every learner gets an isolated workstation in the browser, nothing to install.

Get started

Create an organization and a lab, then schedule a session and invite learners by email or code.

A workstation is slow to start

That is normal, and the screen tells you where it is: reserving, starting, preparing tools, connecting. How long depends on what the lab contains, seconds for a plain Linux workstation, over a minute for a topology with a virtual machine. Do not refresh: it restarts the wait without speeding anything up. For a lab in heavy demand, turn on a warm pool to make it instant.

During the session

The live view shows the class as it works: workstations ready, learners present, progress. You can send a message or a hint to everyone, grant 10 more minutes, pause, answer raised hands and take control of a workstation. AI alerts flag a learner who is stuck before they ask.

Automatic checks

Each step can carry checks that run INSIDE the learner's environment: a file exists, a port answers, a Kubernetes resource was created. The learner clicks « Check » and sees what passes and what fails. Write them so they FAIL when the work is not done, a check that always passes tells you nothing about your class.

Sessions

Schedule a session with guaranteed capacity; each learner's workstation pre-provisions 10 min before the start.

What you are billed for

You pay in credit-hours: one learner, one hour, on a standard workstation. A cluster or a virtual machine consumes more, because it costs more to run. An idle workstation stops by itself, and the pre-warmed workstations the platform keeps ready are never billed to you. The running month is an estimate that moves; a closed month becomes a statement that does not.

Going faster

Ctrl+K (or ⌘K) opens search from any console page: labs, sessions, settings. Sessions pre-provision automatically 10 minutes before their scheduled time, so planning ahead is enough for the class to start on time.
